Frequently Asked Questions
If your question is not answered here, please feel free to contact us.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. Our Data Protection Registration Number is: Z3022378.
Can the process be undertaken via telephone and email ?
Yes. Your time is important to you and in the vast majority of cases the whole process can be undertaken via telephone and email. This enables us to keep the costs of our services as low as possible. Complex work may however require one or more face to face meetings. We will discuss with you should a meeting be required.
What information do you need to provide a quotation ?
We provide all customers with a written quotation, fully detailing the services provided and costs for each service. We will need to discuss the aims of the work with yourself in order to identify the research question(s) and design the survey. Essentially, for surveys the following information will be required:
- Number of questions.
- Number of survey participants.
- Method of data collection (e.g. postal, email, telephone).
- Type of analysis and level of report required.
How secure is the data on your premises ?
All computers used are password protected. Furthermore, the databases used are also password protected. The vast majority of surveys do not require the collection of any data that specifically identifies a person or organisation. However, should this be required, we will discuss the safeguards and methods available with you.
What do you do with the data after the report has been issued ?
We keep hold of the data (securely) no longer than is necessary. A guest house undertaking a customer survey may have no requirement for storage of the data once the report has been issued. However, a pharmaceutical company undertaking an efficacy study may require the data to be stored for a number of years for scrutiny.
We will discuss with you at the start of the project the length of time the data will be held following issue of the report.
Does anyone else have access to my data.
No. The data will only be accessed by employees of Direct Data Analysis, or persons working on our behalf. We will only provide your data to, or discuss with third parties, following written authorisation from yourself. Click here to read our Data Protection Policy
What types of survey and analysis work do you undertake ?
We can undertake all types of work, large or small. Below are some examples of the projects we can undertake:
- A guest house which would like to obtain views on the stay of guests, by leaving a questionnaire in their room.
- A local authority wanting to obtain residents opinions on one or more of it's services.
- A pharmaceutical company wishing to undertake a national efficacy study upon patients using one of their products.
- A business wishing to undertake a confidential survey amongst its employees.
- A magazine, inviting it's readers to undertake an on-line survey.
What experience do you have ?
We are fully experienced in all lines of work that we undertake. The company is run by Phil Woodvine (click name for details of experience) who is a data analysis professional with extensive experience in surveys, analysis, reporting, and decision support modelling.
All staff working for, or on behalf of our company, are experienced and trained to undertake the tasks they perform.
